Favors Launches Into History With Throw of 65-05.25; 2nd in Division One, 3rd in Fed

Junior Breaks Phil Caraher's 1987 NR Record On Second Throw in Division Championships, 2nd in Rockland History; 4x4 Breaks NR's 1981 School Record

History Unfolding...With Over One Full Year Left Raider Eric Favors Will Be Targeting Becoming the Best Thrower in Rockland County History and a State Championship

Cicero, NY - The 2013-2014 school year has been quite the year for North Rockland junior Eric Favors.  He owns both Raider school records in the indoor and outdoor shot put and became an All-American with his top six finish at the New Balance Indoor National Championships.  Favors walked away from the 2014 New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Cicero-North Syracuse High School trailing only Nanuet High School's Tony Harlin who threw 66-00.5 back in 1976 for All-Time Rockland shot put supremacy.  Favor's monster throw of 65-05.25 in the division one finals of the state meet launched him past former NR school record Phil Caraher and Tappan Zee's John Hickey to sit currently at #2 All-Time Rockland County.  Favors was second overall in division one and third overall in the Federation final.  The 4x400m relay of Tarique Wilson (48.9),

Jayson Bretton (52.8), Liam Purdy (49.9) and Derrick Brooks (48.7) used the state federation final to carve out a slice of history for themselves as well.  The team broke NR's existing school record of 3:21.10 set back in June of 1981 in a final time of 3:20.4, good for fifth overall in the final standings.  Senior Michael Earlington finished 12th in the boys' division one shot put with a throw of 50-03.75.  results continued

North Rockland Sending Six to New York State Championships

Favors Delivers as Expected, Wins Both Shot and Discus, Rookie Senior Earlington Nabs 2nd Slot in Shot; Wilson Qualifies on Time in HH; 4x400 Relay Wins

Road Trip...Five Raiders Who Made the Trip to States in Cornell this Winter are Adding Some More Muscle on their Way to Syracuse in the Form of Senior Michael Earlington

White Plains HS, White Plains, NY - Earlier this fall, senior Michael Earlington stood on the turf football field of White Plains High School defeated, dejected.  The physical and spiritual leader of North Rockland football fell one drive short of winning the Section One championship and moving one step closer to the Carrier Dome in Syracuse and the New York State championship tournament.  Ironically, this spring, Michael Earlington earned redemption.  Earlington stood on the same field just months before that brought him heartache with a new smile and new life.  Earlington, along with five of his teammates are on their way to represent North Rockland in the New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championships in, of all places, Syracuse.  Well, technically Cicero, NY, a neighboring town in the Syracuse area, but for Earlington it is close enough.  In his first season competing for North Rockland track, Earlington took the second automatic qualifying spot in the shot put with his personal best 53-10.75 behind teammate and event winner Eric Favors, who returns to his second straight outdoor championship.  Junior Tarique Wilson placed third in the high hurdle final, but his automatic qualifying time earned earlier in the season, punched his ticket to his second straight state championships this year.  The relay of Jayson Bretton, Wilson, Liam Purdy and Derrick Brooks won a thrilling battle with Mount Vernon High School to advance in the 4x400m.  results to come

North Rockland Wins League, County and Sectional Glory in Cross Country and Track in 2013-14

Favors a Double Sectional Winner in Shot and Discus; Jeffrey Wins Sectional Steeplechase Crown; 4x400m Relay Victorious

Good Things Come in Three's...The Red Raiders of 2013-14 Did Not Lose a Single Team Championship in Cross Country, Winter Track and Spring Track

Montebello, NY - From September of 2013 straight through to May of 2014 the North Rockland Red Raider cross country and track and field teams refused to lose.  The young men won the League, Rockland County and Section One cross country and track and field team titles nine straight time to complete the rare and coveted "Triple-Triple".  North Rockland steeplechasers opened the team scoring at the 2014 Section One Class AA Championship with a 22 point effort led by event winner Asaad Jeffrey.  Junior Eric Favors lead a monster 27 point effort taking 5 of the top 6 spots with a 60-09.25 throw in the shot put.  The 4x400m relay of Tarique Wilson, Liam Purdy, Wyatt Brooks, and Derrick Brooks closed the deal on the triple-triple with their win in 3:25.04.  results continued
