Red Raiders Sending Four Athletes, One Relay to New York State Championships

Favors Wins Shot in 63-10; Brooks, Ezilio, Louis-Juste, Wilson Win 4x400m Relay

Red Raider Proud...North Rockland Is Looking to Claim Some Serious Hardware on the Floor of Barton Hall at Cornell University in Ithaca

 

168th Street Armory - North Rockland track and field is sending four individuals and one relay to the New York State Championships at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY.  Leading the Raiders is Senior Eric Favors who threw 63-10 in the shot and undoubtedly go into the competition as the #1 seed.  Teammate Stanley Johnson, who obtained the qualifying standard earlier in the year, punched his ticket with a third place showing.  The 4x400m relay of Chima Ezilio, Tarique Wilson, Philippe Louis-Juste and Wyatt Brooks won the event in 3:23.88.  Brooks also qualified in the 55m dash finishing second and Wilson qualified in the 55m hurdles in second as well.  results continued

North Rockland More Than Doubles Score of Nearest Sectional Opponent with 152 Points to Arlington's 74 Points

Six Straight...North Rockland's Indoor Men of 2014-15 Have Won Six Straight Team Championship Titles Since Last 2013-14 Season

 

168th Street Armory - The men of North Rockland's 2014-15 will go down in the NR pantheon of all-time great teams given their successful completion of the indoor "Triple Crown".  The Red Raiders claimed the 2014-15 league, Rockland County and Section One Class AA Championships with a dominating 152 point performance which more than doubled their nearest opponent's total (Arlington 74pts). Leading the way for NR was senior Eric Favors who successfully completed his own version of the indoor shot put "Triple Crown" with individual wins at the league, county and sectional championships.  Favors, #4 in the US currently, threw 61-11 for the victory.  Seniors Tarique Wilson and Jamal Akpaloo were NR's other sectional individual champions in the high hurdles and triple jump respectively.  results continued

North Rockland Wins Suburban 4x4 Relay in Dramatic Fashion

Junior Wyatt Brooks Drops 48 Second Anchor Leg to Bring NR Team into School History

Wearing Red on Valentine's Day...North Rockland's 4x400m Relay Delivered a Sweet Performance and a School Record at the Millrose Games

 

168th Street Armory - North Rockland's 4x4 relay of Chima Ezelio, Tarique Wilson, Philippe Louis-Juste, and Wyatt Brooks not only won the first ever Millrose Games event for a North Rockland track and field athlete or relay in the program's stellar history, the team also broke the school's record in the event to cap a brilliant performance.  Junior Wyatt Brooks ran 48.7 to catch the anchor leg from section rival Mt. Vernon (NY) to secure the team's win and place in school history in 3:23.29.  The former NR school record was 3:23.90 set back in 1998.  results continued

Brooks Wins County Title in 55m Dash; Favors Captures Yet Another County Title in Shot Put

"Da Kid" Runs this County...No Longer in his Older Brother's Shadow, Wyatt Brooks Won his First County Championship in the 55m Dash

 

168th Street Armory - North Rockland track and field reigned yet again as the boys claimed the Rockland County Track and Field Championship with a commanding victory at the New Balance Armory.  Wyatt Brooks was the star of the show. The junior won the 55m dash and placed second in the 300m dash to lead the Red Raiders to the team title.  Senior Eric Favors won his third straight indoor county title in the shot put. results continued

Favors Dominates Field at Archbishop Molloy Stanner Games

North Rockland Shuttle Hurdle Relay Wins 31.47; Johnson Places in 4th in Invitational Shot Put

 

Armory, NYC - Senior Eric Favors continued his dominance in the shot put with a near five foot differential between he and his nearest competitor as North Rockland's headline act won the Archbishop Molloy Stanner Games with a 61-00 effort.  Teammate Stanley Johnson, not to be undersold due to the rare shadow a 60+ foot shot putter casts, would be a #1 thrower in nearly every other program.  The senior placed fourth in the invitational shot put with a throw of 51-09.  North Rockland's shuttle hurdle relay is enjoying yet another fine season adding the Molloy Games title to their resume with their 31.47 victory.  results continued

Favors Sets School Record in Weight Throw; Seniors Open Up Indoor Season at Section One Kickoff

Taking Charge...Senior Tarique Wilson Opened His 2014-15 Indoor Track Season with a Win in the 55m Hurdles

 

Armory, NYC - Senior Tarique Wilson opened his 2014-15 indoor track and field season with a commanding 7.95 win in the 55m high hurdles.  Fellow senior Eric Favors threw 62-4.75 in his first shot put effort of the year and set a new NR indoor record with his 55-2.75 in the weight throw.  The weight throw is being contested for the first time ever this indoor season.  results continued
