Going Out in Style...Seniors Carrington, Lacossade and Ellis All Carried Home Federation Final Honors at States
Cicero - North Syracuse, NY - Seniors Chris Carrington, Ryan Lacossade and Dasheen Ellis are ending their senior year in strong fashion. The trio all made sure they came home with state championship hardware from the 2009 NYSPHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held on the campus of Cicero - North Syracuse High School. Carrington placed second in the 1600m which saw the fastest time in meet history. Carrington ran an impressive 4:11.97 to beat all but one finisher, Alex Hatz of Fayetteville-Manlius (4:06). Carrington is credited with maintaining his composure over the last quarter mile, reaching deep to power past Bobby Andrews of Shoreham Wading River HS at the finish. Just as impressive was Ryan Lacossade's consistently strong hurdling. The senior ran 14.68 in the Federation final to earn a fifth place spot. Dasheen Ellis placed 7th in the Federation final of the triple jump with an effort of 45-07. Earlier in the meet, Ellis had set a new personal best of 45-10.50 in the division one final. Ellis and Lacossade's places were a clear result of their dedication to practice and the fine leadership they provided to the team.

Three Amigos...North Rockland's Seniors Pulled Off a Rare Feat: Sending the Same Three From Indoor to Outdoor
White Plains, NY - North Rockland's Chris Carrington, Dasheen Ellis, and Ryan Lacossade will get another chance to see what they learned from indoor track as the trio will travel to Cicero-North Syracuse High School for the 2009 New York State Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Ellis will be looking to regain a spot on the medal stand and more after his qualifying performance in the triple jump. Ellis took second and qualified via automatic standard. Ryan Lacossade placed second the 110m hurdles and return to the state finals after competing in the 55m HH this indoor season. Chris Carrington won the 1600m run in 4:18 and will have another shot at a state championship. North Rockland's 4x8 relay placed fourth in a time of 8:00.
