Red Raiders Second Place in Varsity and JV Races at Sectional Championships

North Rockland Second for 2nd Straight Year Behind Arlington; Junior Varsity Races to Second as Well

Resilient Raiders...The Red Raiders Bounced Back at 2nd at Sections after a Disappointing 3rd at the Rockland Championships

Bowdoin Park, Wappinger's Falls, NY - Give the 2011 Raiders credit.  No season for any team is rarely, if ever, perfect, but as far as character and spirit go the Raiders did their best.  And while character and spirit don't necessarily win team championships, they both go a tremendous way.  The Red Raiders of 2011 did their best and rose to meet the next challenge when things didn't go their way.  Case and point:  the 2011 Section One Championships held at Bowdoin Park.  After finishing a disappointing third in the Rockland County Championships to two more experienced and arguably more talented teams, the Raiders did not give up and responded with a two point victory over Suffern to claim second overall 92pts behind winner Arlington 39pts.  The Raiders also finished third overall in the entire Section merged results.  The Raiders yet again relied on a tight 38 second top 5 compression and the emergence of Damian "Spud" Feeney whose gutsy 5th man effort nailed down the team's top 2 performance. The Raider JV, led by Adam Burlew and Matt Canals, also responded with a Section wide second place team performance that proved better than the previous week's effort.   results continued
