Directions to Meet Sites

To Jersey City Armory, Jersey City, NJ

New Jersey Turnpike South (as if you were going to Newark Airport)

Take Turnpike Exit 14A Rt 78 EAST (make sure you bear left as you enter the exit – if you bear right you will head toward Newark Airport)

Stay on 78 East thru the tolls(2-3 miles) as if you were going to the Holland Tunnel

Go past the Liberty Science Center Exit and Take the COLUMBUS DRIVE EXIT

At the bottom of the Exit, make a LEFT at the traffic light on to MONTGOMERY STREET - The Armory is on Montgomery St. about a ½ mile up the hill on the right, between Summit and Jordan Streets.

Travel time from the New Jersey side of G.W Bridge is about 20 minutes

From Northern Rockland County it takes about 55 minutes

Directions to Meet Sites

To Washingtonville High School, Washingtonville, NY

Take PIP North to Rt. 6 Exit to Rt. 17 -Take 17 to Washingtonville exit- Route 208 Right on 208 to Village (6 mi); left on Rt. 94 at light – 2nd school on right.  Park on top of hill behind HS.

To Suffern High School, Suffern, NY

Take the New York Thruway to Exit 14B. At the end of the southbound ramp, turn

 left. Travel to the third light and make a left onto Montebello Road. Take the first

 right turn onto Mile Road and travel to the end. (You will see the school on your

 right as you near the end of Mile Road, but this is not an entrance). Make a right

 turn onto Viola Road. Make a right turn into our driveway (approximately 1/8 of a

 mile).

To United States Military Academy, West Point, NY

Take the PIP north to its end (Bear Mountain traffic circle).

Follow signs for Route 9W north (3d exit off traffic circle).

Take the first "West Point, Highland Falls" exit.

This will lead you into Highland Falls, past the Visitor's Center and Museum, and through to Thayer Gate.

To Treason Trail, Haverstraw, NY

Take 9W south towards Congers

Just before light make sharp left onto Short Clove Rd

Turn sharp right onto Riverside Ave.

Follow Riverside Ave to end.

To Oneonta HS, Oneonta, NY

follow 17 west to Deposit,NY.  Exit there and follow Route 8 north to Sidney, NY.  As you approach Sidney, you'll come to the intersection of Route 8 and I-88.  Take I-88 east.  Exit I-88 at exit 15 (it's the third Oneonta exit and will have a hospital sign).  At the bottom of the ramp make a left.  You'll go under I-88 and through 2 traffic lights.  At the third light (intersection of Maple and Center Streets) make a right.  Go one block and make a left onto East Street.  The second traffic light is the entrance to the high school.  Make a right at it.  Follow the "S" turn entrance road and when you come to the building, bear left and park in the lot at the end of the road.

To Bowdoin Park, New Hamburg (Wappingers Falls), NY

Take New York State Thruway to Newburgh-Stewart Airport exit.  Immediately after toll, bear right onto route 84 East, and take Route 84 East to Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.  Immediately after bridge toll, take first exit on the right (Route 9D North, Wappingers Falls).  Turn left onto route 9D at traffic light at end of exit ramp.  Follow Route 9D North for approximately 5 miles.  At 4th traffic light (excluding exit ramp light) turn left onto County Road 28.  Bear right at fork in road.  Turn right at end of road.  Turn left onto Sheafe Road.  Proceed approximately ¾ mile: Bowdoin Park entrance is on the left.
 

To Westchester Community College, Valhalla, NY

From Tappan Zee Bridge and Cross-Westchester Expressway (Route 287). Take Hartsdale Exit 4. Eastbound, turn left; North on Knollwood Road (Route 100A) approx. 1/2 mile to WCC entrance on right.

To Van Cortland Park, Bronx, NY

From New Jersey and Points South & West:  Take Interstate routes (I-95, I-78, I-80) to George Washington Bridge.  Follow signs keeping you on I-95 for about 1 mile off bridge, then exit at I-87 North.  Take I-87 North (also called the Major Deegan expressway) approximately 3-4 miles to Van Cortlandt Park exit.  Bear right off exit, go about 1/4 mile and bear right onto Broadway (you'll be parallel to elevated train).  Go through 2 traffic lights and VCP parade grounds are on right.  

From New England, Points North & East:  Take I-95 south to Cross Bronx Expressway (this is still I-95 south), and exit at Major Deegan Expressway (I-87) North.  This is one of the last exits before the George Washington Bridge.   Take I-87 North (also called the Major Deegan expressway) approximately 3-4 miles to Van Cortlandt Park exit.  Bear right off exit, go about 1/4 mile and bear right onto Broadway (you'll be parallel to elevated train).  Go through 2 traffic lights and VCP parade grounds are on right.  

From Upstate New York, Points North & West:  I-87 South over Tappan Zee Bridge; go approximately 20 miles after bridge and exit at Van Cort Park South exit.  Make right at traffic light, then bear right onto Broadway (you'll be parallel to elevated train).  Go through 2 traffic lights and VCP parade grounds are on right.  

To Cornwall High School - New as of '03

Palisades or 9W North to Bear Mt Circle

Take 9W North Towards "West Point/Newburgh"

Go Over Storm King Mountain until reaching Quaker Rd. exit on right

Get off on Quaker Rd, off ramp make left

At light make right onto Rt. 32

Go 2-3 miles to "5 Corners" in Vail's Gate - Mobil Station and McDonald's on left

At 5 Corners make left onto Rt. 94

Travel 2 miles on Rt. 94 - Make left onto Dragon Dr./Cornwall HS  at light

To Cornwall Middle School

Palisades or 9W North to Bear Mt Circle

Take 9W North Towards "West Point/Newburgh"

Go Over Storm King Mountain until reaching Angola Rd. exit on Right

Get off on Angola Rd, off ramp make right into Cornwall until Circle

Go across circle down Main St. until fork in road

Make left at fork in road, Cornwall HS 1/2 mile on left

Race is in back of school

To Randolph HS

PALISADES INTERSTATE PARKWAY SOUTH

Merge onto NEW YORK STATE TRWY N/ I-87 N/ I-287 W via exit number 9W

Merge onto I-287 S via exit number 15

Merge onto NJ-10 W via exit number 39B toward DOVER.

Turn RIGHT

Turn LEFT onto MILLBROOK AVE/ CR-656

Freedom Park is located 1.0 mile South of Randolph HS. Continue

South on Millbrook Ave. past the HS and make a left into Freedom

Park.

To Sunken Meadow State Park

GW Bridge Entering New York

Keep STRAIGHT onto I-295 [Cross Bronx Expy Ext] (I-295 / Throgs Neck Br)

Merge onto I-695

*Tollbooth* Road name changes to I-295 [Throgs Neck Expy]

Take Ramp (RIGHT) onto Cross Island Pky (Cross is Pkwy / Eastern L I)

At Cross Island Pky Exit 30, take Ramp (RIGHT) onto I-495 [Long Island Expy] (I-495 / L I Expwy / Eastern L I)

At I-495 Exit 53, turn RIGHT onto Ramp (Sagtikos State Pky / South Shore / Sunken Meadow Pk)

To Reisman Park

Palisades to Exit 12. Go south on Route 45. Park is about 1/4 mile on the left

To Bear Mountain

New York State Thruway to Exit 13 (Palisades Parkway North) to Bear Mountain Traffic Circle (about 20 miles).  Follow the signs for Bear Mountain Inn.
