Raider Seniors Rescue Record Setting Performance in Last Indoor Race of Season
North Rockland Runs to Final US #6 in 4x8 at New Balance Indoor National Championships

Historic...Alex Andre, Dylan Landry, Nick Bien-Aime and Tim Mendez are the First 4x8 Relay to Ever Break the 7:50 Barrier in Rockland History
Armory, NYC - The North Rockland Red Raider 4x800m relay of Alex Andre, Dylan Landry, Nick Bien-Aime and Tim Mendez broke their existing school and Rockland County record by becoming the first indoor relay ever to break the 7:50 barrier. The team ran 7:49.76 in the championship heat of the 3,200m relay at the 2011 New Balance Indoor Nationals at the Armory Track and Field Center. After a solid leadoff from Alex Andre in 1:59.8, Dylan Landry ran a scintillating 1:55.7, by far the best performance of his 2010-11 indoor season, to pull the Raiders back into the lead pack. Nick Bien-Aime kept the Raiders within the top 5 with his 1:58.2 and handed off to Tim Mendez who delivered a team best 1:55.6 to pass Colonial Forge, VA and into 4th place where they would finish overall. Abington, PA won the national title in 7:45.21. The time gives the Red Raiders ownership of the US #6 time in the event. The 4th place finish earns Andre, Landry and Bien-Aime their second All-American title and Mendez his first. results continued

4x8 Relay Places 2nd in NYSPHSAA, 3rd FED, Favors Places 2nd in NYPHSAA, 5th FED at State Champs
One Step Left...NR's 4x8 was Left With One Spot from the NYSPHSAA Crown, while Favors Stunned the Field With His 2nd
Cornell University - North Rockland's record breaking relay gave up ground they could ill-afford as the chance of North Rockland's first relay state championship of any kind slipped away during the 3,200m relay championship at the 2011 New York State Winter Track and Field Championship held at Barton Hall on the campus of Cornell University. The relay of Tim Mendez, Nick Bien-Aime, Dylan Landry, and Alex Andre benefited from another strong leadoff by Tim Mendez, but could not muster the drive to keep eventual winner Shaker (7:55) and St. John the Baptist (7:56) behind them. The relay ran 8:01.34. Senior Darius Favors delivered an inspiring effort in his first states appearance ever throwing 51-11.25 to capture 2nd overall in the NYSPHSAA and 5th overall in the Federation. Favors was seeded 13th overall coming into competition. Jumper Nick Bien-Aime placed 10th overall in the long jump with a leap of 21-06.00. results continued

New County Record in 4x800m; Favors Qualifies in Shot, Bien-Aime in Jumps

Twice as Nice...NR's 4x8 Relay Earned Its Second Trip to the State Meet in as Many Years and Cooked Another Record
Armory, NYC - Five seniors from North Rockland know their time is drawing near. Time is drawing near because they no longer can fall back on "next year" as a high school athlete; There is no time "next year" to correct the mistakes they've made in the past. This is their final year to leave their mark as a North Rockland Red Raider at the state meet. Darius Favors, injured last spring, spent most of the year wondering if he would compete again let alone get to the state championships. Favors threw 49-6.75 to place second overall and earn his first berth to a state championship meet. Nick Bien-Aime, North Rockland's "athlete extraordinaire" leapt to two state championship berths with a win in the triple jump and a second in the long jump. Bien-Aime later ran the second leg on the 4x800m relay along with Tim Mendez, Dylan Landry and Alex Andre, who all declined to run individual events in order to help each other get to the championship final. The relay's time of 7:53.39 set a new Rockland County and school record breaking the existing mark set at last year's national meet. results continued
