"Glad" to be Here...The Jersey City Armory is Home To Gladimir Sanon's HJ Record
Jersey City Armory, Jersey City, NJ - There are those barriers in track and field, in any event, that willing and determined athletes recognize as sacred. Red Raider Gladimir Sanon is inching, literally, closer to the ever coveted height of six feet in the high jump. The junior set a new personal best of 5'10" and made three solid attempts at 6'0", which was good for second place at the inaugural Section One Coaches Invitational held at the Jersey City Armory. In addition to Sanon's effort, distance runner AJ Savoia broke an important barrier of his own. The junior broke ten minutes in the 3200m run, becoming the second such Raider to do so thus far in the 2005-06 season. Savoia ran 9:52 for a fifth place finish.
